So, today was a cool day. I went to school and afterwards hung out with a pretty cool friend. I was helping him with a paper he’s got due tomorrow and that was pretty awesome. Oh wait, before I forget, we had a good Bible Study at Century reading and talking about Daniel 4 in the Bible. If you’ve never read it, I recommend doing so. It’s got some really good stuff in it. Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, basically has everything stripped from him, and it’s not until he acknowledges the Lord that he finally gets things restored. So, the reader gets a pretty sweet example of a person in authority who experiences the Lord and changes because of it to some extent. Made me think about how it’s easy to lose sight of the Lord when I’m engrossed in the things of this world. A good story worth a read if you haven’t already.
Anyways, so tonight I went to a youth group at the church this friend goes to and I really enjoyed going. We first had some worship as the whole church and then the youth went off to their room. Apparently the youth are going through a video series called Demolishing Strongholds. Now this series seems to be pretty cool. It’s basically about evolution and evangelism – an interesting combination (compatible?). So, yeah, for those of you who don’t know exactly where I stand on this issue, here it is: I don’t believe in what is taught in the public schools – evolution. What they teach there is no evidence for. The only trace of evidence comes from the artwork, which of course is flawed and biased. But anyways, this isn’t a bash evolution post. The video series is produced by a group called Answers in Genesis (www.answersingenesis.org) which is one of my favorite ministries out there. They’ve really inspired me in my faith. I completely recommend checking them out if you’re at all interested in the Creation/Evolution debate and what to believe about things and how it affects the Bible and faith. So, yeah I believe in what the Bible says – Creation…in a recent timeframe (at least recent in comparison to the supposed billions of years of evolution). Not only does the Bible proclaim this doctrine, but observational science, or shall I say “true” science, does indeed support such a claim. So I both believe in Creation as a faith thing and as a logical thing. The two don’t have to conflict, and they don’t.
So, yeah, that was a lot of my day today. Hope you enjoyed reading about it if you did (I guess if you’re reading this, then you’ve probably read my preceding statements…). Yeah, I hope you all have an awesome day and I pray that the peace of God would be with you. And oh, if you’ve got any questions, comments, anything, be sure to leave a comment or send me an email or something…I’d love to talk.
